Industrial Grade Lithium Carbonate:
Li2CO3, with a relative molecular mass of 73.89 and CAS NO: 554-13-2, shares similar properties as the battery-grade variant. It finds extensive applications in aluminum electrolysis, steel continuous casting slag protection, special glass, ceramics, glaze industries, and can be converted into various other lithium salts and series of lithium compounds.
Properties:
colorless monoclinic crystal or white powder. soluble in dilute acid, slightly soluble in water, solubility in cold water is larger than hot water. Insoluble in alcohol and acetone, density 2.11g/cm³, melting point 723℃, boiling point 1230℃.
Usages:
It is widely used in aluminum electrolysis, steel casting slag, special glass, ceramics, glazes and other industries, it can be converted into lithium chloride, lithium fluoride, lithium bromide, lithium hydroxide monohydrate and other lithium chemical compounds.
