Industrial Grade Zero Lithium Carbonate
Industrial grade lithium carbonate is a colorless and transparent crystal with the chemical formula Li2CO3 and a molecular weight of 73.89. It can exist stably in air with a density of 2.11 g/cm3 and has good thermal and chemical stability. Industrial grade lithium carbonate is an important lithium compound mainly used in the production of lithium batteries, glass, ceramics, metallurgy and other fields.
Chemical and Physical Properties
The chemical formula is Li ₂ CO ∝, which appears as a white monoclinic crystal or powder with good fluidity. It is slightly soluble in water and dilute acid, but insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone.
The density is about 2.11 g/cm ³, with a melting point of 723 ℃ and a boiling point of 1230 ℃. It is stable and non-volatile at room temperature.
Purity and Classification
The purity of industrial grade lithium carbonate is usually between 99.2% and 99.5%, with high impurity content (such as iron, copper, aluminum, etc.), and the price is lower than that of battery grade products.
Unlike battery grade lithium carbonate (purity ≥ 99.5%), industrial grade products are mainly used in traditional industrial fields.
