1、 Indirect application as a basic raw material
Purification and preparation of battery grade lithium carbonate
Industrial grade lithium carbonate (purity ≥ 98%) needs to be converted into battery grade lithium carbonate (purity ≥ 99.5%) through deep purification processes (such as ion exchange, recrystallization) to meet the purity requirements of lithium battery cathode materials (such as lithium iron phosphate, ternary materials).
Synthesis of other lithium compounds
Industrial grade lithium carbonate is an intermediate used to prepare key raw materials for batteries such as lithium hydroxide and metallic lithium. It can be further processed into battery grade materials through chemical reactions, supporting the supply of raw materials for the lithium battery industry chain.
2、 Auxiliary industrial applications
Precursor of electrolyte additives
Industrial grade lithium carbonate can be used as a raw material to synthesize lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF ₆), which is the core component of lithium battery electrolyte and directly affects the conductivity and cycle life of the battery.
Auxiliary steps in the preparation of positive electrode materials
When preparing positive electrode materials (such as lithium cobalt oxide) by high-temperature solid-phase method, industrial grade lithium carbonate can be used as an auxiliary raw material to participate in some reaction steps, but the content of impurities (such as Fe, Na) needs to be strictly controlled to avoid performance degradation.
