Battery Grade Lithium Sulfide:
Li2S, with a molecular weight of 45.95 and CAS NO: 12136-58-2, is a white crystal soluble in water and ethanol, soluble in acid but insoluble in alkali, with a melting point of 975℃ and a density of 1.66 g/cm³. It is a key raw material for synthesizing sulfide solid electrolytes in an all-solid-state lithium battery and can also be applied in lithium-sulfur batteries.
Use:
Li2S is a key raw material for synthesis of sulfide solid electrolyte in all solid state lithium battery.
Solubility:
soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, soluble in acid, insoluble in alkali. It is easy to absorb water vapor in the air and hydrolysis occurs, releasing hydrogen sulfide gas.
Precaution:
Li2S should be used in a dry and inert atmosphere, and personal protection is important.
